Although it is based in Boca Raton, Florida, The Herrick Company has involved itself in media productions in Hollywood, Las Vegas, and New York City through its Herrick Entertainment subsidiary. In Las Vegas, the subsidiary produced the show Hairspray, which was based on the John Waters movie and subsequent musical. Films such as 2 Guns (starring Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington), Lone Survivor (directed by Peter Berg), and The Devil’s Double (based on the true story of Uday Hussein’s body double) also received Herrick Entertainment’s financial support.
As a theatrical producer and investor, The Herrick Company has been responsible for many critically acclaimed shows. At the 2009 Tony Awards, the company’s projects won Best Musical Revival (Hair), Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play (Geoffrey Rush for Exit the King), and Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Karen Olivio for West Side Story). Moreover, the company executive produced the musical stage production of The Lord of the Rings, which played at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London for over a year.
